*Summary*
The Early Childhood Teacher at Angel Academy is instrumental in manifesting the founder's vision for the facility: Love.
This role involves not only the standard educational and operational responsibilities but also a commitment to the holistic development of every child.
With an emphasis on inclusivity, regardless of a child's background or societal label, the teacher is expected to ensure both the academy's standards and those mandated by the Department of Human Services (DHS) and the Department of Education (DOE) are upheld.
*Duties and Responsibilities*
- Coordinate and implement an educational curriculum, ensuring classroom activities are based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
- Cultivate a teaching environment defined by love, care, and inclusivity.
- Embrace the owner’s mission to develop the whole child into better humans irrespective of their background or societal label.
- Lead with intention and example, fostering a team environment with teaching assistants and classroom volunteers.
- Maintain open lines of communication with children, families, and staff.
- Ensure adherence to all center policies, state regulations, and standards of DHS and DOE.
- Maintain a healthy and safe classroom environment.
- Oversee teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure consistency in planned activities and safety standards.
- Preserve accurate records, forms, and files.
- Prioritize professional development, showcasing a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
- Uphold the highest standard of professionalism, ensuring inclusivity and respect in every interaction.
- Engage in proactive and productive collaborations with fellow teachers, staff, and families.
- Commit to timely and consistent preparations, including creating lesson plans four weeks in advance, ensuring individualization for every child.
- Ensure daily cleaning and sanitizing routines are strictly followed.
- Prioritize punctuality, daily presence, and research, demonstrating dedication to the academy's mission.
- Display creativity and innovation in lesson delivery.
- Avoid labeling or stereotyping, ensuring a bias-free environment.
- Stay updated with and effectively use all software and technology tools including Brightwheel, Teaching Strategies, Gmail, and Calendar.
*Requirements*
- Minimum of 2 years of professional childcare experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to work synergistically with others (staff, children, and parents).
- Profound understanding of child development.
- Must possess an Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Clear full background check and health screening.
- Associate’s Degree in early childhood education or related field with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE.
- Physical requirements include frequent walks, handling objects, kneeling, bending, seeing at various distances, and more.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
