We are seeking candidates for our Childcare Center located inside of the Tulsa Women and Children Center.
This is an exciting opportunity where you get to take part in the daily supervision of children within a facility focused on the growth of women and mothers in addiction recovery.
Along with the ability to truly make an impact in the lives of the mothers and children, you have many benefits unique to TWCC.
A few of those benefits are: * The kids are always on time for drop off and pick up.
This allows a very predictable schedule.
* The children are also with their mothers during lunch time.
This allows you to have from 11:30-12:50 to yourself, followed by nap time.
Our goal is to provide a wraparound service to truly aid the mother and child as they relearn life after addiction recovery.

has been serving clients in Tulsa since 1981, has been a Tulsa Area United Way member agency since 1989, is certified by CARF, the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, for alcohol and other drugs programs, and is certified by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.
The Child Care Program at Palmer Continuum of Care, Tulsa Women and Children’s Center is accredited by NAEYC, the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and is licensed as a Reaching for the Stars Three-Star Child Care Center by Oklahoma Child Care Services.

Summary: Provide care and supervision to infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and/or school-age children.
Maintain classroom, develop and implement age appropriate curriculum for children.
Establish and maintain supportive relationships with children and parents.
Our unique residential program is one of the few programs in the nation that can accommodate children while their mother's participate in residential substance abuse treatment.
Children in the program receive specialized care by our team of Counselors and Child Care Providers.
Our Children's Program is accredited by NAEYC and 3-Star rated by ODHS.
Qualifications: · Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education Required · 2 years working experience in a DHS Child Care facility · Current Oklahoma Professional Development Registry · Current Pediatric First Aid & CPR certification · Current Food Handlers Permit Requirements: · Meet qualifications for Master Teacher under DHS Three Star Center requirements · Current Oklahoma Professional Development Ladder, meeting Master Teacher level requirement · ELG (Early Learning Guidelines) Training if employed after 2009 · Strong verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills · Ability to lift 50 pounds · Strong commitment to work as a part of a team · Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certification · If required to operate company vehicle, current Oklahoma Driver’s License and clean/acceptable driving record; proper vehicle insurance · Preferred: Experience working with children in a classroom situation.
Knowledgeable of substance abuse, addiction and DHS regulations.
Representative Duties: · Responsible for constant supervision of children in activities that encourages participation and ensures safety of the children.
· Identify and take appropriate action when social, academic, adjustment or behavioral related issues arise.
· Use appropriate positive interaction when discipline problems arise, avoiding negative techniques such as time-out.
· Coordinate with Children’s Counselor to meet treatment needs of children and to present pertinent information during Parenting Lab, Mommy and Me and other classes.
· Responsible for full understanding and implementation of DHS regulations, as well as TWCC policies and procedures.
· Plan and implement the lesson plans in assigned classroom.
Develop and provide a well-balanced schedule, alternating active and quite activities, small group, large group and individualized attention.
Plan is developed through research for appropriate child-indicated curriculum and presented to Child Care Manager at least one-week prior to implementation.
· Maintain a classroom environment that is age and developmentally appropriate taking into consideration any special needs of individual children.
· Plan and implement parent communication.
Communicate to parents through bulletin board on monthly lesson plans, menus, daily schedule and other relevant information.
· Teacher’s assigned classroom may vary and additional responsibilities maybe required according to the age of the classroom.
· Maintains a neat, clean, safe and orderly classroom.
