Job Summary: The Data Governance Program Lead supports the implementation and maintenance of the organization’s data analytic strategy established by the governing steering committee.
This role facilities the data governance standards and processes and puts these into action through the help of metric and data stewards, data analysts, and other key stakeholders.
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or in a related field.
4 years of enterprise-level experience, in lieu of Bachelor's degree may be considered.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: None.
Work Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience in IT or related healthcare field.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Advanced knowledge of structured query language (SQL) and data catalogs.
Proven knowledge of data management to understand integrity issues and facilitate their resolution.
Strong Microsoft Office skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Recognized problem-solving, critical thinking, and conflict resolution skills.
Demonstrable skills in managing projects and problem resolution in a healthcare organization.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
Outstanding ability to maintain professional and courteous during highly stressful and fast-paced situations.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Leads and supports the data governance roadmap including strategic priorities for the development of information-based services and capabilities.
Ensures data governance tools work properly in order for data integrity issues can be found and resolved.
Facilities the development of standards and processes for metric and data element integrity, standardization, and transparency.
Maintains the health system’s file of data governance initiatives, projects, and activities.
Provides guidance to data analysts, metric and data stewards, data architects, and other stakeholders to populate, automate, and maintain data to make the enterprise data warehouse (EDW) easier to navigate and aid optimal data governance.
Collaborates with internal departments to resolve identified data quality issues; partners with IT to ensure the necessary data governance supporting tools are in place to meet the needs of the overseeing committees.
Decision Making: Independent judgement in making decisions involving non-routine problems under general supervision.
Working Relationships: Leads others in same worked performed (does not supervise).
Works with internal and/or external customers via telephone or face to face interaction.
Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
Works frequently with individuals at Director level and above.
