Position Title Director of Programs
Job Description
The Director of Programs at the University of Tulsa is a key leadership role responsible for developing, coordinating, and executing a wide range of programs and initiatives aimed at fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and the future of work training among all TU students.
This position plays a pivotal role in enhancing the university’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, connecting students with external partners, and promoting entrepreneurship and corporate innovation as a viable career path.
Characteristic Responsibilities: Program Planning and Organization: Develop and execute a comprehensive calendar of events, workshops, seminars, and networking opportunities related to entrepreneurship and innovation and the future of work.
Develop and execute over 24 months, a program focused on supporting female entrepreneurs at TU Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful planning and execution of programs.
Develop and execute in collaboration with TU Marketing team communications and collalteral material a measurable plan to increase financial support for CIE and JOLT Develop and execute a plan to measure and report annually on impact of CIE, JOLT and the business college’s entrepreneurial programs Develop and execute annually a survey of all users and collaborators of CIE adn JOLT and host a continuous improvement day with an annual report on goals for following year improvements.
Engagement with External Constituent Groups: Foster strong relationships with local entrepreneurial organizations and entities, including 36 Degrees North and ACT House, to facilitate collaborative initiatives and partnerships.
Identify opportunities for joint events and activities that benefit our students and the broader entrepreneurial community.
Semester-Long Entrepreneurship Competition: Manage and oversee a semester-long entrepreneurship competition, including participant recruitment, mentorship coordination, judging, and prize distribution.
Ensure that the competition aligns with learning objectives and provides a valuable experience for student entrepreneurs.
Guest Speaker Series: Curate a series of guest speakers, entrepreneurs, and industry experts to share their insights and experiences with students.
Coordinate logistics, invitations, and event promotion for guest speaker sessions.
Affiliate Academic Programs Collaboration: Work closely with academic programs across campus to integrate entrepreneurship and innovation elements into their curricula.
Identify opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaborations and support faculty in developing relevant coursework.
Jolt@TU Business Program Support: With counsel from Jolt advisor, advance the mission of Jolt to provide hands-on and experiential programming related to innovation, entrepreneurship, and the future of work.
Coordinate and manage the interview process for prospective students interested in the Jolt Creatives program, ensuring a seamless experience.
Collaborate with program leadership to enhance recruitment efforts and program visibility, attending recruitment fairs and strategic high school site visits.
Serve as co-advisor of the University Innovation Fellows program and the Jolt Creativity Club.
Co-Curricular Programming Oversight: Manage and oversee co-curricular programming related to the minor in Innovation & Entrepreneurship, ensuring alignment with academic goals and learning outcomes.
Continuously assess program effectiveness and make improvements as needed.
Manage budget and expenses related to innovation, entrepreneurship, and future of work programming.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in program development, event planning, and project management.
Strong network within the entrepreneurial ecosystem and experience working with external partners.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of entrepreneurship education and innovation best practices.
Prior experience in higher education is a plus.
