*Job Summary*
The Seasonal Camp Director manages the seasonal operations of the overnight camp program within the framework of Girl Scout program, policies, standards, plan of work, and budget of the council.
Overnight Camp employment is seasonal, with dates of employment approximately May – August.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities* * Consistently demonstrate a climate of courtesy, respect, and professionalism to staff, volunteers, members, parents/guardians, and general public.
* Provide and encourage an atmosphere for developing good morale and well-being among the camp family.
* Maintain compliance with Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA), American Camp Association (ACA) and council health and safety standards and procedures.
* Continually monitor camp operations to ensure that all established health and safety standards are in place and are followed.
Provide guidance, interpretation, and updates to camp staff.
* Confer regularly with Resident Camp Director.
* Partner with the Resident Camp Director to monitor and administer Overnight Camp budget and financial operations.
Approve some camp expenditures.
* Facilitate routines, schedules, and procedures for camp operations.
Manage check-in/check-out, camp set-up, and camp clean up.
* Supervise and assist in training staff for overnight camp.
Maintain training records.
Conduct in-service trainings as required.
* Ensure that all staff understand the expectations of their position descriptions and staffing assignments prior to the arrival of campers.
* Maintain all necessary records, reports, rosters, inventories, and evaluations.
Submit all required reports, administrative records and paperwork according to established deadlines.
* Maintain system for maintenance and storage of camp records and paperwork.
* Monitor risk management plan, including emergency procedures (emergency action plan).
* Coordinate safe transportation for campers and staff; manage trip and travel procedures with program and unit staff.
* Provide direction and support to camp staff in handling accidents, incidents, and emergencies.
Engage emergency action plan.
Coordinate the completion of required forms and reports.
* Manage camp staff performance according to council personnel policies.
Partner with Resident Camp Director to submit camp staff evaluations to HR at close of camp.
* Supervise and evaluate, or supervise evaluations of, all Overnight Camp staff.
* Consult with the camp ranger regarding camp repairs/maintenance: communicate about camp program and schedules that may involve those services.
Ensure that proper care is taken of camp equipment and facilities during overnight camp season.
* Partner with Resident Camp Director to prepare an evaluation and summary of current season including inventories, staff evaluations, camp programs, camper reports, operations, facilities, and recommendations for the following season.

* Must meet the minimum age requirement of 25.
* Two to five years of supervisory experience.
* Two to five years of outdoor programming experience.
* Ability to model behavior consistent with the Girl Scout Mission, Promise, values and Law.
* Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
* Act as a team player with the desire to do whatever is necessary to make the total camp program successful.
* Must be able to lift and move equipment weighing approximately 25 pounds.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Google Drive * Willingness to live on-site for the duration of the overnight camp season and dates specified in the employee agreement.
* Ability to endure occasional exposure to seasonal weather conditions.
* Physically able to move about the camp property in various environmental conditions.
* Experience driving different passenger vehicles including 15 passenger vans.
* Certification in First Aid and CPR.
* Possession of valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
* Physically able to move through and between offices, program centers, campgrounds, and other off site locations as needed.
* This is a Safety Sensitive position.
*Preferred Experience* * Knowledge of Girl Scouting.
* Knowledge of American Camp Association standards.
