JOB SUMMARY:
The Manager of Data Reporting and Report Development is responsible for architecting advanced data solutions while directing a team of data analysts in providing analytical, operational, cost and quality metrics to both internal and external customers, including regulatory reporting to CMS.
This role acts as the Architect of data warehouse data marts and self-service reporting platform solutions.
Additionally, this role supervises and manages both a team of health data analysts, as well as project teams building data and reporting deliverables, using new and legacy development tools including SQL Server T-SQL, Oracle PL-SQL, Power BI, DAX, Azure DevOps, Power Automate, JIRA, MS Access, and SAS.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Organize and lead the team responsible for development and implementation of EDW star-schema based self-service reporting using SQL Server T-SQL, Power BI Desktop, Power BI Report Builder, and DAX.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT data engineers and business stakeholders, to define requirements and ensure the data architecture supports business needs.
• Design, develop, and optimize EDW Reporting Data Mart(s) to enable efficient data retrieval and analysis and ensure accurate and timely data availability for reporting purposes.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and provide training and support for self-service reporting tools.
• Lead a team responsible for creating and managing data visualizations, reports and dashboards using Power BI to provide actionable insights to end-users.
• Manage a team of data analysts and developers, providing guidance, coaching and performance feedback to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
Utilize JIRA, MS Access, Microsoft Planner, and Power Automate to provide visibility and collaboration of all assigned work items • Conduct and lead major analytical projects without immediate supervision, including all aspects from requirements gathering, work item scheduling and staff assignments, design, programming, unit testing, code review, quality assurance testing, and release management of reporting products • Implement best practices for data governance, data quality, and data security to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Serves in Quality Assurance capacity generating test scripts, conducting code review sessions, building data quality monitoring metrics and reports.
• Oversee training of new analysts and professional development of supervised analysts.
• Facilitate submission of data to regulatory agencies and provide oral presentation of complex data products to leadership • Performs Release Manager duties to promote data mart and report code to upper environments including code deployment, data mart loading, documentation, traceability, task tracking, and dev ops using Power BI Deployment Pipelines, Azure Data Factory Pipelines, Azure Dev Ops Repos, and JIRA.
• Creates and manages SAS Management Console automation workflows; performs SAS Server User administration functions for onboarding and offboarding staff • Designs and administers Active Directory Groups to support Departmental and Project Based Power BI Report Hub applications • Supports legacy Microsoft Access applications by coding system enhancements, troubleshooting and fixing production issues and performing monthly database maintenance to prevent database corruption and locking • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: • Expert level SQL Server T-SQL skills including performance tuning and data warehouse / data mart design • Advanced level Power BI Service, Power BI Desktop, and Power BI Report Builder skills and experience as architect of Power BI reporting solutions • SAS or similar report building and analytical languages • Project Management experience leading multiple, concurrent projects, including requirements gathering, backlog generation, sprint scheduling, budget tracking, and user acceptance interactions, with other departments, executive leadership, and outside parties.
• Ability to conduct multiple, complex, and concurrent analyses assignments without immediate oversight.
• Release management experience using Power BI Deployment Pipelines, MS Visual Studio, and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with project management tools such as JIRA • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams and present findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications • Successful completion of Health Care Sanctions background check.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, MIS, Computer Science or other quantitative discipline required.
Master’s degree a plus.
