Description: Position Summary The Vice President of Safe Housing serves as a staff member at will of Domestic Violence Intervention Services (DVIS).
The Vice President of Safe Housing is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing DVIS’ Shelter and transitional housing and strategies.

Priority 2: Housing Develop, implement, and maintain written policies and procedures for emergency shelter operations.
Monitor shelter physical operations, to provide housing facilities that are safe, clean, comfortable, and adequately stocked.
Develop and implement an internal review system so that housing facilities comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Assist maintenance coordinator in vetting, selection, and supervision of contractors for the maintenance, repair, and upgrades needed to keep the residential facilities safe and operational.
Monitor the shelter food service operations, so that meals are the best possible quality.
Timely complete and submit documentation and statistics required by funders and other payers.
Timely complete and submit Critical Incident Reports.
Coordinate, hold, and facilitate case staffing meetings to enhance staff interaction and increase case continuity.
Provide the shelter employees with professional direction regarding client needs assessment and meeting those needs or referral to other community resources.
Oversee general facility management functions, including facility maintenance programs.
Enforce facility rules and regulations and when necessary and mediate disputes between residents.
Develop, implement, and manage adherence to the annual departmental budget.
Oversee involuntary exits for residents.
Assist the Vice President of Clinical Services in the support, supervision, and maintenance of transitional housing.
Priority 3: Counseling Coordinate counseling and advocacy services at the shelter and transitional housing, in collaboration with outpatient counseling and Family Safety Center.
Provide shared on-call coverage after hours and on weekends.
Assist in the development and implementation of client safety and treatment plans.
Supervise the advocacy programs offered to the residents of the shelter.
Maintain knowledge of referral resources and processes.
Priority 4: Collaboration Develop and provide presentations for potential stakeholders, current funders, and community partners.
Participate in the PQI Committee and processes regarding quality service delivery and corrective action processes.
Develop and maintain working relationships with clients, DVIS employees, external agencies, and the public.
Represent DVIS at community meetings related to sheltering, housing, and homelessness.
Other Duties & Responsibilities Other Duties/Responsibilities: Other assistance to support the overall goals of the department and organization.
DVIS retains the right to add or change duties and/or responsibilities at any time.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises Assistant Shelter Director, Survivor Advocates, Front Office Manager, interns and/or volunteers.
Budgetary/Fiscal Responsibilities: Departmental budget responsibilities.
Acts as a good steward of DVIS resources.
Responsibility for Confidentiality: The nature of this position requires safeguarding against the release of confidential and proprietary information of DVIS and its clients.
Contact with Others: This position will interact with managers at all levels and staff members across the organization, in addition to members of external organizations and the public.
Requirements: Job Requirements/Experience Education: Master’s degree required in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or in a related field, or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Experience: 5-years of experience in crisis intervention required; 3-years of experience leading and mentoring a large team of professionals, in residential management and trauma related client focused social services is strongly preferred; or any equivalent combination of experience, lived experience, and/or special skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of or experience working with social justice issues, specifically intimate partner, and gender-based violence, post-traumatic stress, rape trauma, mental health, substance abuse, and racial, class, gender, and sexual orientation issues strongly preferred.
Proven computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs are necessary; database experience preferred.
Requires recognized organizational, written, and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally to a wide range of audiences, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize work and tasks.
Requires adaptability to produce and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-tasked and changing environment, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must have outstanding negotiation skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with diplomacy.
Must be an exceptional collaborator, problem solver and leader in developing and executing new strategies to position DVIS as a recognized innovator and leader in its field.
Requires sophisticated emotional intelligence and resiliency skills to lead and/or actively participate in advancing the DVIS’ work relative to racial, social, and economic justice.
Schedule Availability: Days with occasional nights and weekends and on-call responsibility.
Licenses/Certifications: LPC, LCSW, or other related certification required; valid Oklahoma driver’s license with clean driving record required; current CPR and First Aid certification preferred.

Ability to reach for, move and/or lift up to 25 pounds and the use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, including frequent repetitive movement such as extended periods of keyboarding.
