Applications Engineering Manager
Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is looking for an Applications Engineering Manager.
This position will lead and coordinate product development projects.
Evaluate and resolves technical feasibility, design optimization and production issues with new products.
What you will be doing:
Lead the applications engineering team at Ameristar Perimeter Security, specializing in crash-rated products and high security perimeter fencing.
Oversee the development and implementation of engineering solutions for crash-rated barrier products, including wedges, drop arms, bollards, and rising beam barriers.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, including ASTM F2656 and ASTM F3016, as well as ASCE 7-10.
Serve as an expert in high-security perimeter fence systems, providing technical expertise and support to internal teams and external customers.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise and support throughout the product development lifecycle.
Analyze customer requirements and specifications to develop customized engineering solutions for specific projects.
Conduct product testing and validation to ensure performance meets or exceeds industry standards.
Provide training and support to sales and customer service teams on technical aspects of crash-rated barrier products and perimeter fence systems.
Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to high-security perimeter fence systems.
Ability to present well thought out and articulated concepts to an executive management team.
Role requires strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to be flexible, solution oriented and adaptive to changing priorities, as well as effectively manage and resolve conflict.
The skills and experience you need:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in applications engineering or a related role, with a focus on crash-rated barrier products and high-security perimeter fence systems.
In-depth knowledge of ASTM F2656 and ASTM F3016 standards.
Experience with crash-rated barrier products such as wedges, drop arms, bollards, and rising beam barriers.
Proficiency in ASCE 7-10 and other relevant industry standards related to perimeter fencing.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative engineering solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and develop a team of applications engineers.
Experience in project management and product development processes.
